About Tai Lake

Tai Lake is a chinese restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 134 N 10th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 1 PM–12 AM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (215) 922-0698. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, tailakeseafoodrest.com.

Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 680 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese restaurants in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The food was so delicious!! Me and my family ordered a lot of different food like the lobster, beef, chicken with noodles, and seafood with noodles. The staff were really friendly and joked around with us. That was my favorite part of our time here. They were so funny and also ensured I had a full glass of water every moment. Everything was so clean and organized. I had an overall wonderful time here! We will be back.

I went to Tai Lake Restaurant and ordered the half Peking duck. Right away, it came out with bao buns instead of the traditional thin pancakes. That completely changes the dish. Bao buns are thick, filling, and you hit a wall after a couple bites. If I had known that, I would not have ordered it. That should absolutely be communicated upfront. The duck itself was mediocre at best. Greasy, fatty, nothing special. I’d honestly give it a 6 out of 10 and that might even be generous. Servers were fine, attentive enough, no complaints there. My bill came to $34.55 and I still tipped 20% because I’m not petty about service when people do their job. Where this place really lost me was the manager. It wasn’t even 5:30 PM. No dinner rush. The restaurant had multiple empty tables. I was sitting at a two person table by myself, literally just waiting for my Uber that was 7 minutes away. The manager comes over and tells me to go wait outside. I said no. It was cold, I had bags with me, and I had just paid and finished eating. There was zero reason to rush me out like that. He doubled down and insisted he needed the table. And I’m going to be real, that was just bad hospitality. I work in

I love all the restaurants in Philly’s Chinatown but I am gonna have to say it … this one is my favorite. The Cantonese dishes are ON POINT and cover all the bases. They keep it traditional old school and delicious. The chef(s) are truly wok hei masters and the endles ingredients needed for Cantonese cooking are fresh. Always friendly chats with waitstaff. Bonus points for the owner’s Toy Tsan connection.

One of the all time classic places to eat at in Philly - if you’re looking for great seafood dishes, a wholesome Chinese family dinner, and large, tasty portion, you should come to this place.

Good food, very nice customer service. Have all kind of special food for parties. Waiter and waitress are so friendly and checking to clean our table and exchange new dishes. I planned to eat at the New York Chinatown but it was early to have lunch there, so on the way home, we stopped by Phila Chinatown. Will come back again with friends and families whenever we go to NYC or visit Ocean City. Tram πŸ˜€πŸœπŸ›πŸ²πŸ§†
